I. Definition

The Vietnam Visa on Arrival (also known as the Vietnam landing visa or the Vietnam airport visa) is a quick and easy way to get a valid visa to visit Vietnam. Upon arrival in Vietnam, the Visa on Arrival may be checked at one of the Vietnamese international airports. 

To receive a visa on arrival in Vietnam, you must first obtain a visa acceptance letter. You must first complete the online application form. Second, you present it at Vietnam airports to get your passport stamped with a visa. There is no need to transmit your passport or any other documents to apply for this visa in Vietnam.

II. The process to apply Visa on Arrival

Step 1: Fill out the online Vietnam visa application form and pay the service charge.

Step 2: Receive the approval letter through email.

Step 3: Show your visa acceptance letter, completed entrance and exit form, original passport, and portraits photos, and pay the stamping fee at any of Vietnam’s international airports (in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Da Nang, and Hai Phong) to get your visa stamped on your passport by an Immigration Officer.

III. Vietnam Visa Types at the Airport 

Tourist visas (DL), business visas (DN), working visas (L), and student/internship visas are the most common categories of Vietnam visas (DH). However, a visa on arrival is only possible for

• Business Visa

• Visa on Arrival is available for Air travelers. Those arriving by land or cruise are required to contact the local Vietnam embassy to get a full Vietnam visa before departure.
